The Real #Finfluencers Ep. 34: Jane Mepham and Manasa Nadig on Getting Specific

What happens when two niche experts stop overthinking content and start recording the conversations they’re already having?

In this episode of The Real #Finfluencers, Laura talks with Jane Mepham (Founder & Principal at Elgon Financial Advisors) and Manasa Nadig (Owner & Founder of MN Tax & Biz Services). Together they are co-hosts of the International Money Cafe podcast, a show that started as a casual cross-border “coffee chat” and turned into a long-running content engine.

Jane and Manasa didn’t begin with a polished video strategy. They started with audio. Then, as their confidence grew, they added YouTube, experimented with Shorts, and kept refining what worked. Along the way, they discovered something many advisors need to hear: you do not have to start with perfect production. You need a clear topic, a real conversation, and a willingness to keep learning as you go.

Their approach is thoughtful, practical, and especially relevant for advisors and other professionals serving a very specific audience.

3 Secrets from Jane & Manasa

1. Start with audio, then build into video

Jane and Manasa did not force themselves to start on camera before they were ready. They recorded the conversations they were already having, got comfortable with the format, and added video later. That made the process feel more natural and gave them a lower-pressure way to begin creating consistently.

2.  YouTube rewards specificity

One of their biggest lessons is that general content does not perform as well as highly specific content. Instead of talking broadly about cross-border finance, they narrow in on exact questions their audience and their clients are asking. That specificity helps the right viewers find them and makes their content far more useful.

3. Use Shorts to feed your long-form videos

They noticed that YouTube Shorts were getting strong traction, so they started using them as a hook to pull viewers toward their full-length episodes. Rather than treating short-form and long-form as separate strategies, they connect them. It is a smart way to stretch one conversation into multiple touchpoints.
